Title, company Owner and president of D.B. Homes, Inc.
Educational Background: 1993 graduate of Richland High School and 1999 graduate of Pitt.
Noteworthy career highlights/contributions: In 2000, Burke incorporated D.B. Homes, which specialized in modular construction. Since then, he has said the demand for the company’s products has grown steadily.
In 2006, he moved the headquarters out of a location in Dale Borough to a new building construction on Eisenhower Bouelvard in Richland Township.
“It features a 1,600-square-foot-design center with four luxurious kitchens and endless other samples,” he said.
His company has been recognized as a select builder from Ritz-Craft Corp. and he has been asked to sit on the President’s Advisory Board for the third consecutive year. According to Burke, the award distinguishes D.B. Homes as a premier builder of modular homes in the tri-state area.
D.B. Homes this year partnered with the Johnstown Housing Authority to build two modular homes in the Prospect section of Johnstown. The two homes will be made available to low-income families. “D.B. Homes is proud to be part of a project that helps revive our community,” Burke said.
What’s Next: Burke said he wants to work to continue to educate the public on the many advantages and misconceptions of modular homes. “I would like to grow and expand D.B. Homes to be this area’s premier home builder,” he said.
Quote: “I’m extremely excited the community has embraced our business and made it a success. I always wanted to be able to stay in the area and raise my family. Johnstown is where I wanted to be –my family is here.”
Something you may find surprising: “I graduated from college with a criminology degree with the intent of becoming a federal law-enforcement agent,” Burke said.
